OUR HERITAGE
Our heritage covers over six decades of diamond sourcing and valuing expertise. Looking for new opportunities in the 1960s, our ancestors began exploring the rough diamond trade in Africa. However, while conflict arose in Western Africa – the Antwerp diamond market was flourishing, and so a strategic move to Antwerp in the 1980s allowed us to be established as one of the most reputable diamond traders in the market there.

OUR INCORPORATION
In the 1990s South Africa became the largest diamond producing country, with over 100 million carats a year. It was (and still is) an important source for fancy coloured diamonds. With renowned mines like the Cullinan, Finsch, and Koffiefontein, our next big move was to establish a strong foothold there and tap into the fancy coloured diamond market.

OUR EXPANSION
After establishing a strong presence in Johannesburg for over 20 years, Golden Yellow Diamonds expanded its expertise to Dubai. In 2019, a new trading office was set up along with a state of the art manufacturing facility: Almas Diamond Services. With a vision to use the latest technology and innovations, Almas Diamond Services transforms a rough diamond into its maximum potential. From boiling, 3D mapping to polishing: we offer a 360 degree service for clients wanting to manufacture high quality diamonds in Dubai.

OUR NAME
Our name “Golden Yellow Diamonds” originates from a very rare form of vivid yellow diamonds found near a small town in Sierra Leone called Zimmi. These Zimmi stones are valued as a premier tier of vivid yellow diamonds as they are formed with a relatively stronger saturated colour than any other yellow diamonds typically found elsewhere. Simply put, they are Golden Yellow Diamonds.
